STREET MAINTENANCE

 

 

To maintain public streets and thorough fares on public rights-of-way; maintain traffic signage, street markings, warning devices, make asphalt repairs, grind raised sections of sidewalks to eliminate potential trip liabilities and to maintain City-owned parking lots.

Accomplishments:

  • Applied 470 tons of asphalt to make street repairs

  • Applied 23,850 pounds of crack sealing material to City Streets.

  • Repaired and/or replaced 2,300 traffic control signs.

  • Completed 320,794 lineal feet of street striping

  • Painted 104,000 sq. ft. of pavement markings.

  • Ground 5,400 raised sections of concrete sidewalks.

  • Sprayed 1,800,000 sq. ft. of public rights-of-way and alleys with herbicides to control weed growth.

  • Coordinated and performed traffic control for the Christmas Parade, Street Fair, and Memorial Day Activities.
