Residents are encouraged to visit the parks and use the many facilities: ball diamonds, play equipment, fitness courses, basketball courts, picnic shelters and more. Alcohol is not permitted at any park site. FACILITY RESERVATIONS POLICY There are Recreation facilities which may be reserved by Downey residents and community groups: picnic shelters, ball diamonds, meeting rooms, fire rings, and banquet size rooms. Reservations are taken Mondays,Wednesdays,Friday, 7:30 am to 5:30 pm, and must be made at least seven (7) working days in advance. For fee schedule and additional information, phone the Community Services Department.
