The Street Sweeping Section is responsible for overseeing the sweeping of all streets, alleys and city owned parking lots which is performed by an outside contractor. In addition, they are responsible for cleaning slotted cross gutters throughout the city, the transportation and disposal of street sweeping debris and the removal of items and trash abandoned in the city right-of-way.

WEED ABATEMENT SECTION

The Weed Abatement Section is responsible for the abatement of weeds on vacant lots. They notify the owners of the properties that the weeds have to be removed. If the property owner does not comply with this request within 10 days, the city's contractor then removes the weeds and the property owner is billed for the costs involved.

This section also is responsible for the board up and clean up of the vacant properties that the Code Enforcement has deemed a hazard. Also, they handle the disposal of abandoned items discarded in the public right-of-way.
